We’re not even
going to try to pretend that the C 340 was designed for
any other
purpose than hard core fishing. Yes, it makes an excellent
yacht tender. And
yes, it can easily take the family and all of the kids’ friends
out sandbar hopping,
but — where the C 340 really shines — is when
the seas kick up, the bite is on, and
lesser boats stay home.
Its aggressive deep-V hull and notched transom design slices
through rough water
at a remarkable clip – thanks to its powerful twin
Yamaha engines that provide
maximum horsepower and fuel economy and the need for that
third engine – as you
make your way to where the big fish are. An optional fold-down
transom seat and
adjustable helm and companion seats ensure that you and
your crew will be rested
and ready when the first clip snaps and “Fish On!” breaks
the silence.
Fishing features include a 52-gallon recirculating livewell
in the aft portion of the
helm seat. The rigging station is located at the transom
with a cutting surface, pliers
and knife holders, tackle drawers and fresh and raw water
so that everything you
need is within reach. An additional optional livewell can
be mounted along the
transom for a never ending supply of livies. Even the cleats
retract so you won’t
snag a line when the fight is on or when you’re cast
netting live bait.
With four insulated in-deck fish boxes and an optional
insulated bow deck box, you
have plenty of room for the day’s catch — and
no excuse not to fill them up. Other
amenities include an enclosed electric head with macerator
and pumpout within
the console, easily accessible by a large door forward.
For entertainment, there’s a
Clarion AM/FM/CD stereo with iPod jack and four speakers.
